Please Note: Make sure that you clean your electric lawn after every use to avoid any dirt or grass cutting getting stuck to your mower’s blades and drying up there.
Step 1: Unplug your machine
The moment you are done using your lawn mower and your lawn is completely mowed, you need to clean your lawn mower as the grass and dirt stuck to your lawn mower is still moist and so it can be easily removed.
However, you need to first unplug your machine before you can start the cleaning process.
Step 2: Remove the grass collection bag
Once you have switched off your lawn mower, you need to remove the grass collection bag and either store it in a compost or throw it in your garbage bin to be taken care of later.
Step 3: Remove the batteries
If you have a cordless electric lawn mower, then you also need to remove the batteries from your lawn mower and recharge it while you are cleaning the lawn mower.

Step 4: Tilt your lawn mower to one side
Now, move your lawn mower to one side to check the underside of your mower. Make sure you wear your protective gloves while doing so and use a scraper to remove any stuck debris or grass cutting beneath your mower deck.
Step 5: Clean the air vents
Take the dry duster to get rid of dirt or grass clogging in the air vent and make sure that it is clean and free of grass. If your air vent is clogged, proper air circulation won’t reach your motor which could lead to overheating of your mower.
Step 6: Clean the blades
Make sure you also wipe the blades clean and there is no dirt or grass stuck to it as this could cause your lawn mower to slow down or stop abruptly.
Step 7: Wipe the mower
Once you have removed the grass and dirt from the lawn mower parts, you need to use a soft cloth to wipe down the underside of the mower, the deck, and so on. Make sure that there is no dirt lying around or stuck to any side of your mower.
Step 8: Reassemble the lawn mower
Once you have properly cleaned the lawn mower, let it dry a little before you start reassembling all of its parts.
